Spiral Logic IV Straight Debate to Spiral Debate

Let me tell you this, pointblank.

The debate is based on the law of attraction.

Which side, pro or con, attracts the other side more vigorously?  Debate, logical by nature, favors intellectual superiority over emotional prowess.

College debate, in particular, gravitates toward the battle of logic, enforced by information (facts and figures) rather than intelligence.

Why? Because unquantifiable intelligence, hidden underneath, explodes like magna at nature’s whim.

But can a case be made that those red hot molten rocks are the real motives behind those rationally fabricated facades?

Logical confrontation works better perhaps at the academic level than an emotional confrontation that’s a fact of life, albeit it is considered politically incorrect.

Tatemae, being politically correct (sugar coated) and civilized, for that matter, but plays only a second fiddle to honne (honest feelings construed as inappropriate or politically incorrect). But who knows honne, coming from spontaneous and thus natural impulses, is more powerful.

Debate, merely as a pursuit of persuasive skills, is too academic, and not entirely “in tune” with reality. This is where the Way of Debate (spiral debate) comes in. 道 (Doh) picks up where 術 (Jutsu) leaves off.

Keep in mind, however, 道and 術 are not muturely exclusive. 術 divides, but 道 unites, the theory of thermodynamics says fusion is far more powerful than fission, because 道does not exclude 術. Both 道and 術 complement with each other.

Now that’s the Way of Debate. The spiral debate, hexagonally organized, comes by spontaneous generation. It doesn’t come on my own, but by nature’s will.

Man-made logic goes straight. But nature’s logic goes spiral.

The spiral debate, after all the clash of two vortexes. I’ve been recently inspired by my experiences at Nushima island I recently visited for two nights’ stay. All I saw at this wonder island is vortexes. The vortex (whirl-pool) at Naruto strait, spirally deformed trans-formational rocks, spirally twisted fossil rocks, all indications of the happy marriage between Jomon and Yayoi cultures spirally fusing into each other.

Conflicts or clashes kill but vortexes don’t. They just live and let live – reversing each other. 和 is spiral. 和 should not kill; cannot kill. Spiral debate, life-giving debate, makes opponents, friendly or unfriendly, come alive. Now, that’s the beauty and joy of spiral debate.

Spiral Logic IV Spiral Debate: Definition

What’s spiral debate? Let me get the definition straight. 

Since it’s hard to define the newly emerging concept of spiral debate, let me define what it is NOT.

It’s not the straight debate that is based on man-made straight logic that goes linear—past, present and future--.

We have an issue (debatable). To debate, we have to establish the need for change. To do so, the problem area must be identified. Here goes the straight logic or why-because logic.

Pick an issue. (Why is it an issue?) The issue comes from a serious problem. But why is it serious?  Where does the problem come from? (Why is it inherent in the issue?) 

Where’s a link between cause and effect? If you set the link established, the rest is easy. Kill the cause and the effect (problem) will go away. Right? Wrong, the problem will come back. Why? Prove me wrong. That’s straight.

Spiral debater wonders if the basis assumption, either-or solution, is valid.

Is affirmative right, because negative is wrong? If the golden balance is the way to do, both can’t be right or wrong. Instead of separating right from wrong, an attempt must be made after fission (debate as a tactic) so that both right and wrong must be fused as a strategy into a golden balance, yin and yang.

Fission is just a means of reaching fused (enlightened) consensus, the beauty of the golden mean (中庸).

Spiral logic says neither party is absolutely right and wrong. It is just both are equal but separate.

Straight logic on the “fission” debate is an effective tactic to strategically reach, fused (educated) consensus or mutually acceptable balance. Mutual give is what spiral debate is after.

Spiral Logic VII Haragei Fuses into Debate if it’s spiral.

Hara is a person’s gravitational center around which all human’s psychosomatic activities evolve spirally. 

            
            Haragei is a debate in disguise, because issues are debated in the hara (abdomen).

Debate is a haragei in disguise, because all human issues are artificially separated by human logic between pro and con and cooperatively performed between separate actors.

Civilized debate, therefore, favors winner's justice, whereas natural logic based on hara (visceral) logic favors neither winner nor loser, it just favors magnetic fulcrum, called hara.

Why? Because hara, a pivotal center, believes that the spiral truth is somewhere in between.

Nin is a samurai’s self-worth. 

I’m in the vortex of Bushido. Are you in or out? Get in the vortex with me at your own risk. I got in on my own. 

It wasn’t till I got engulfed in this whirl-pool at Minami Awaji that I learned that giri and ninjo are intertwined in eddying waters. 

The collapse, oops, fusion of the two gravitational waves colliding into each other, complementing with each other.

The Spiral Logic. The natural logic. Natural logic doesn’t go straight, like, first, second, third or past, present, future; it goes spiral—getting right back where it started from. The past and the future evolve around here and now – zero gravity. It’s the center of Norwegian Maelstrom. It’s the eye of the typhoon – the funnel. You may call it void, ether, gravitational wave center.

When surface currents and tidal currents collide, dangerous giant whirlpools (maelstroms) occur on their own, like Onokorojima, 自凝島 in the ocean. Nushima, famous for hamo, softbony fish, product of Jomon currents, eventually fused spirally into Awaji island, thus consummating the marriage made in heaven between hunter, gatherer Jomon culture and rice-cultivating Yayoi culture.

Nushima gave us fishery, whereas Awaji-shima gave us farming culture. Fabulous onions.
Two cultures across the Median Techtonic Line, merge spirally into the celestrial conjugation, giving rise to the unity between Izanagi 's sperm and Izanami 's egg. The biological intercourse between two deities materialized the birth of the twin, first-born Nushima and Awaji-island. Hence Japan's creation myth. The two vortexes are spirally conjoined for eternal mutual attraction.


木馬館 keeps on harping on one thing. What goes up must come down. You get what you give.(因果応報) You just don't give it away. Time or money. Everything comes full circle.
I've been living in two major cultural vortexes: Osaka and Tokyo.
Now I'm in the middle of the conjoined ocean,

Currents are horizontally moving, created by global winds, affected by the Earth's spin.
Ocean water moves up and down in daily patterns called tides. Tides are caused by the gravitational, rotational forces of the Sun and the Moon acting on Earth. The moon's pull on the Earth is stronger than the Sun, because it's closer to us. 太陰暦 (lunar calendar) is more influential, more vibrational, and more gravitational than 太陽暦 (solar calendar), because it's more natural – with apologies to Fukuzawa Yukichi who poo pooed the former. 

Nature is spiral. We should be spiral. And our logic must be spiral, by extension.

The day of straight logic is over. Life is non-linear.

Syllogism works as long as logic works.

(All dogs are animals; all animals have four legs; therefore all dogs have four legs.)

Is the following deductive logic also valid?

The Kodokan, my office, room can be cleaned more effectively by more members according to the law of the division of labor.

Three members can clean it three-times faster -- more effectively.

Therefore, one hundred members can do it one-hundred times quicker – thus more effectively.

Um.

The twenty-percent of employees do the job for the remaining eighty-percent of them, less competent. (The law of power)

To make an organization more effective, it’s logical to get twenty-percenters from various organizations and get them to work on a project.

Does the linear logic work?

Umm.

Evolutionary logic.

Spiral logic is a natural-born logic.

Human-made logic is ephemeral.

Spiral logic also begins with WHY?

          Nature cross-examines: Define beginning.

Tell what was there before the beginning.

Before God. Before the Big Bang.

Before time began. Before logos came into being.

            Any evidence against spiral energy, or against evolutionary spiral?

The birth of spiral debate as a logical and natural conclusion.

 Ⅴ. Spiral Debate Fuses TIME and SPACE into a Spiral Whole.

          TIME: Rock or/and Wind.

          SPACE: Fire or/and Water.

WARP: Time and space are twisted into nothingness and everythingness.

Ether logic, perhaps. Because compatibility and incompatibility are not mutually exclusive. Both dance ethereally.

Ask Isaac Asimov (Russian-born writer-scientist). The prolific science non-fiction writer passed away without publishing a long-awaited book on ether. What a shame!
